Overview: Supporting Remediation in Watford’s Key Development
SRC Infrastructure was engaged in the ongoing Meriden Regeneration project in Watford, focused on reviewing and providing expert advice on remediation works for two residential and commercial buildings. The project remains active, with the objective of addressing structural issues in both occupied and under-construction buildings.
SRC’s Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer was tasked with reviewing the design and proposed remediation for two key buildings. The role included assessing retrofit works in the occupied areas and reviewing construction progress for remediation in ongoing builds.
Delivery Strategy and Implementation
This project operates on a call-off basis, with SRC responding to the client’s needs as required. Upon receiving instructions, the team conducted thorough reviews of the project details and provided informed comments to guide the remediation process. SRC utilises dashboards to manage resources and track report revisions, ensuring clear communication with the client.
Results and Successes
The project has delivered comprehensive design reviews, with key comments and recommendations provided to the client. Constant communication ensured the client was fully updated on the progress of deliverables, and early engagement facilitated smoother project execution.
Diversification and Strategic Growth
“This project represents a strategic milestone for SRC Infrastructure as we expand our footprint into the residential sector. By working on residential projects such as this, we are broadening our service offerings to include the review and remediation of mixed-use buildings, which involve a unique set of challenges compared to transport-related infrastructure. Engaging in the residential market not only opens new business opportunities but also strengthens the company’s ability to deliver multi-disciplinary engineering solutions across a wider variety of sectors.” – Joe Corden, Project Engineer.
