HomeColindale Station Redevelopment: Procurement & Constructability Advisory

Colindale Station Redevelopment: Procurement & Constructability Advisory

Project Background

The Colindale Station Redevelopment formed part of London Underground’s strategic capacity and accessibility improvements across the network. SRC Infrastructure was appointed to provide targeted procurement and constructability advisory services, ensuring the project’s baseline design was both cost-efficient and deliverable within the constraints of an operational railway environment. Working closely with TfL’s Framework partners, SRC led a structured, evidence-based review of construction methodologies and value engineering proposals to drive efficiency and buildability.

Our Work

  • Two-Phase Procurement Strategy: Designed and implemented a staged procurement approach that enabled early engagement and iterative evaluation of contractor proposals, achieving a 20% reduction in forecast design and construction costs.

  • Constructability Assurance: Provided detailed assessments of buildability challenges, ensuring proposed solutions aligned with LU’s operational requirements and reduced construction risk.

  • Collaborative Value Engineering: Facilitated joint working between TfL and contractors, allowing real-time assessment of feasibility, risk, and cost implications during the design refinement process.

  • Enhanced Clarity and Deliverability: Supported LU in achieving greater visibility of contractor intentions, while enabling suppliers to align proposals with project expectations for cost, quality, and programme certainty.

  • Foundation for Successful Delivery: Established a robust baseline for a design and build contract, optimising value and ensuring long-term deliverability of the Colindale Station upgrade.
