Context

SRC delivered the first-year Principal Inspection of the new Luton DART, a 2.1km automated rail link connecting Luton Airport Parkway to London Luton Airport. Opened in 2023, the DART has already carried over 2.5 million passengers and plays a key role in the airport’s long-term expansion and  transport strategy.

Supporting Long-Term Asset Resilience

SRC’s first-year Principal Inspection provided Luton Rising with an independent assessment of critical civil assets across the operational DART network. The inspection enabled early identification of maintenance requirements and any emerging defects, supporting proactive lifecycle planning and informed asset management decisions.

Undertook the Principal Inspection of the DART’s key civil assets, including its 310m viaduct.

Inspected CFA piles, RC pile caps, piers, steel girders, and deck structures to assess condition and integrity.
